League of Legends S14 Updates: Item Revamps and Additions

League of Legends (LoL) Season 14 is getting big changes, with the main feature being items! This is a good thing, though, as these updates make the game fun and create different ways to play.

Players can see the bigger changes in the game with updated boots such as the Symbiotic Souls. Riot also reworked AD items like Bloodthirster and Bork, and new items such as the Blackfire Torch and Yum Tal’s Wind Arrows have been added.

These updates bring more variety and excitement to players’ builds while refreshing and shifting the meta.

Now, let’s examine which changes were made:

New Additional Items and Boots

Zephyr

It is available as a boots upgrade after reaching level 15. It provides 40% attack speed and 65% movement speed. It also reduces slows by 20%.

Synchronized Souls / Symbiotic Souls

Synchronized Souls / Symbiotic Boots replace Mobility Boots and makes for a perfect choice for roaming champions! It is a new type of movement speed item with a special feature. It gives you 35 extra movement speed. Your recall is also upgraded. Returning to your base is now even faster, like Baron recall, only better. Once you’ve covered 150,000 units of distance, you also gain an additional 45 movement speed when you’re not in combat.

Fated Ashes

The Amplifying Tome inspires it. It adds extra damage to enemies every time your abilities hit them. It works even better against monsters.

Scout’s Slingshot

Made from a Dagger, it gives 20% attack speed. It also deals extra damage when you hit champions. The cooldown gets shorter with each auto-attack.

Blackfire Torch

It adds burn damage based on your abilities. It also increases your AP for every enemy hit by the burn.

Overlord’s Bloodmail

This item gives extra bonuses, including attack damage (AD), that increase based on your bonus health.

Yum TaI’s Wind Arrows

This new item gives attack damage (AD), boosts critical strike chance, and adds extra damage for every critical hits.

Attack Damage (AD) Item Changes

Lots of AD items are being updated. There will be a significant change to critical hit stats. Each critical hit item will give you a 25% crit chance. It is no longer 20% like before. It means that champions can reach their full crit chance with just four items.

The Collector

Adjustments are made to its stats to improve effectiveness.

Bloodthirster

It has received new tweaks. Sadly, the bonus it offers for crit chance or AD is no longer there. Instead, it maximizes the base AD and returns its old shield ability.

Essence Reaver

Now, this item has become a non-Spellblade. You don’t build it from Sheen anymore. Basic attacks will give you back some mana when you hit an enemy.

Infinity Edge

Buffs now cost more.

Immortal Shieldbow

The life-steal part has been taken away.

Kraken Slayer

It no longer gives crit chance. Instead, it provides more movement speed and better stats.

Mercurial Scimitar

Its main components are improved. Life steal is now a feature.

Lord Dominik’s Regards

Significant improvements and tweaks were applied.

Navori Quickblades

It has a new name: Navori Flickerblade. The recipe and statistics have been updated. Now, it focuses on movement speed and attack speed.

Rapid Firecannon

AD was removed, but the other stats were boosted.

Phantom Dancer

This item no longer gives attack damage (AD). Instead, it focuses more on attack speed.

Runaan’s Hurricane

It is crafted from Scout’s Slingshot. Its on-hit magic damage is removed.

Stormrazor

Removed from the game entirely.

Statikk Shiv

It received considerable changes in its new recipe and functions.

Blade of the Ruined King

This item has been buffed in all areas.

Terminus

Some minor adjustments were applied.

Changes in Support and Tank Items

Some support and tank items are getting updates. These include Randuin’s Omen,  Knight’s Vow, Winter’s Approach, Downcore, and Zeke’s Convergence.

Anathema’s Chains

This item has been taken out of the game.

Knight’s Vow

It is now built differently. It gives health regeneration.

Randuin’s Omen

It slows enemies more. But it has fewer overall stats.

Winter’s Approach

It now has a higher base of health. Mana conversions allow it to gain more health.

Zeke’s Convergence

It no longer gives mana. But it now provides magic resistance.

Dawncore

This item has changed a lot. It has a new recipe. It offers more ability power (AP), healing, and shielding power. It also has a base mana regeneration. Plus, it gives extra ability power for every 100% base mana regeneration.

Thoughts on the Update

It's clear, these changes aim to shake up the game and the meta. They encourage different ways to build items, whilst adding fresh excitement to the game.

Players can look forward to trying these new items, tools, and strategies when the new patch goes live.
