Jumping into the abilities:
This ability is incredibly useful for watching for flanks and generally gathering information. Place tripwires at choke points or common paths to catch rotating enemies. Remember, you can pick up and redeploy your Trapwires, so don't be afraid to adjust their locations based on the situation and game state.
Cyber Cage is fantastic for cutting off sightlines and slowing pushes. Toss it before entry points to deter rushes, or use it reactively to block vision and buy time for your team to rotate. Like Trapwire, Cyber Cage can be picked up and redeployed, allowing you to adapt easily!
This is his most powerful information-gathering tool. Place it high up in contested areas to gather the most info. Remember, though, when using Spycam, communicate enemy positions to your team and use your marking dart to track movements. Just be aware that enemies may spot and destroy the Spycam, so it's best to practice and adjust the locations accordingly.
Lastly, use Neural Theft early in the round when most enemies are alive for maximum impact. The information it provides can help your team decide based on the enemy's positioning.
Combining Cypher's abilities opens up even more opportunities to outplay the enemy team:
As a Sentinel, Cypher shines brightest on defence. As a Sentinel, your main objective is to lock down a site and provide your team with the information needed to make quick macro rotations. To make things easier, at the start of the round, place your Trapwires and Cyber Cages at key entry points to deter enemy pushes.
Next, you can position your Spycam to watch the most contested area of your site, allowing you to keep tabs on the enemy's movements. Remember to communicate with your team and ask for help watching your flank, as Cypher can be vulnerable when focused on his Spycam.
Lastly, if the enemy manages to push onto your site, use your Cyber Cages to slow them down and buy time for your team to rotate. In retake situations, your Trapwires and Spycam can help you gather crucial information about the enemy's positioning.
While Cypher is most comfortable on defence, he can still be a valuable asset on the attack! Use your Trapwires to watch flanks and ensure your team isn't caught off guard by enemy rotations. You can also place your Spycam in contested areas to gather information about enemy positions and set up for your team's push.
During site pushes, toss your Cyber Cage onto the entry point to obscure enemy vision and slow down their defence. Your Trapwire can also prevent enemies from pushing out aggressively or flanking your team.
Lastly, if your team successfully takes a site, use your remaining utility to build a strong post-plant defence, Placing Trapwires at key choke points and positioning your Spycam to watch for enemy rotations or retake attempts.
Place a Trapwire and Cyber Cage at the A Long entrance to deter pushes, and position your Spycam to watch the A Short/Sewer area.
Set up Trapwires at the B Short and B Long entrances, and use your Cyber Cage to block vision from the Hookah window.
Place a Trapwire and Cyber Cage at the Mid Market entrance to slow down enemy rotations, and position your Spycam to watch the Mid Courtyard.
Set up Trapwires at the B Yellow and B Green entrances, and use your Cyber Cage to obscure vision from the B Orange/Kitchen area.
