Every League of Legends Character in Arcane

From Top Lane to Bot Lane, here are all League of Legends Champions that appeared in Arcane Season 1 and Season 2.

Netflix's hit animated series Arcane premiered in 2021 and has left an impression on fans of League of Legends and viewers who like visceral, tragic, and atmospheric stories that keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. The story follows Powder and Vi, two sisters in the midst of unrest between the urban city of Piltover and its underbelly, Zaun.

Arcane Season 2 introduced a slew of in-game characters from across Runeterra. Fans of the MOBA game will be excited to watch episode after episode, hoping their favorite champions will turn up with the series' main cast, like Jinx and Vi. From an abundance of colorful characterization, from a Yordle inventor to the Firelights, Arcane has us wanting more of League of Legends Lore. Here's a list of familiar champions from League of Legends that Arcane features.

Piltover Hextech Elites

The League of Legends characters from the high-rise Piltover are:

  • Vi -One of the main protagonists, this Jungler is in Arcane as Jinx's sister and the eldest daughter of Vander. As a headstrong officer struggling with loss, she won't stop until her enemies get a "Cease and Desist" to the face.
  • Caitlyn - The ADC with fatal headshots is in Arcane as Vi's love interest. The enforcer from Piltover is disciplined and determined, but her privileged upbringing hinders her sense of justice.
  • Jayce - Jayce is one of Heimerdinger's students whose work with Hextech stems from his past, when Jayce and his mother were saved by it. Now Piltover's poster boy for Hextech, his story as Viktor's best friend and Mel's lover unfolds throughout Arcane's story.
  • Heimerdinger - The genius inventor mage Heimerdinger is here as Piltover's number one innovator and voice of conscience. He reminds everyone, especially his students, that progress without wisdom leads to destruction. He also plays the banjo really well.

Zaun Chem Heads

From the underbelly of Piltover, here are the champions that make an appearance in Arcane:

  • Jinx (Powder) - Taken in by Silco, Vander's mortal enemy, Jinx is the main character. With how popular Jinx is, it's unsurprising that she's the main protagonist of Arcane. The show even has her whipping out her ultimate ability "Super Mega Death Rocket!" which is peak for League of Legends Players.
  • Ekko - The boy who shattered time is in Arcane as Vi and Jinx's childhood friend, Heimerdinger's student, and as the Firelight leader. Ekko's character arc in Season 2 will leave you in tears, so get your tissues ready.
  • Singed - The mad chemist from Zaun whose experiments with Shimmer and human augmentation make him terrifying. He's willing to do everything for a certain person.
  • Warwick - Warwick shows up in Season 2 as a character that Vi and Jinx deeply care for. Without going to spoiler territory, we can confidently say that Warwick is an interesting character for the fans due to many fan theories surrounding this character.
  • Viktor - His chronic illness leads him to become obsessed with Hextech. In Season 2, his role is astronomically elevated, figuratively and literally, serving as a controversial turning point in his future in League of Legends.

Noxian Might

From the fearsome empire of might, the Noxian champions to appear in the series are:

  • Mel - An original character from Arcane, Mel is a Noxian citizen who serves as a member of the Piltover council and the love interest of Jayce. In the second season, her role in the story becomes more interesting throughout the season.
  • Ambessa - Ambessa, Mel's mother, is a ruthless political commander ready to turn Piltover into a warzone to get what she wants. Ambessa is one of the newest champions in League of Legends as the latest Arcane character to be included in the game before Mel.

Other Cameos

As dark as the series gets, Fortiche has fun with easter eggs and nods to our favorite champions. Here are the cameos that appear throughout Arcane:

  • Kindred - A background character wears the mask of the Kindred Spirit. If this is just a nod to a character, we're not sure, but if it's not, this would have a huge implication on the official League of Legends lore.
  • Teemo - The most beloved champion in League of Legends. Teemo is referenced across episodes, in posters, graffiti, and in a book, and his hat appears in the series.
  • Swain - Swain shows up in Arcane, but his champion form is not in Arcane yet. He is seen as the three-eyed raven, who follow him in-game and perch on the walls if you're playing as Swain in League of Legends.
  • Jhin - Jhin's mask was shown in one of Ekko's memory flashback scenes during his foray in the alternate universe.
  • LeBlanc - the League of Legends Champion that’s most associated with the Black Rose cabal. Her appearance in the last season of Arcane will surely be touched upon in future animated projects.
  • Janna - Janna appeared in an episode of Arcane as a stone sculpture in Zaun that was destroyed during a brawl between our beloved characters in the series.
  • Orianna - Orianna appears in one of the characters' main story arcs. In this universe, she's not the clockwork automaton yet, but chances are, she's going to end up the same as her League of Legends counterpart.

The Future of the Runeterra Cinematic Universe

While Arcane has officially concluded its story with the Season 2 finale, Riot Games has confirmed that this is just the beginning of their animated universe. Instead of a direct "Season 3," fans can look forward to a new series that will likely shift the spotlight to the militaristic empire of Noxus.

The S2 finale left several threads dangling that point directly to this region: the political center of the Medarda clan, the shadowy machinations of the Black Rose cabal (led by the deceptive LeBlanc), and the ominous ravens hinting at the rise of the Grand General, Swain.

As the camera moves away from the City of Progress, viewers can expect a darker, grittier exploration of war and expansionism, potentially featuring heavy-hitters like Darius, Katarina, Talon, and Mordekaiser as the conflict spreads across Runeterra.

The League of Legends Universe just got way bigger with this large number of playable champions featured in Arcane, but it doesn't stop there. Fans of the game and Netflix's Arcane truly hope that these champions from Piltover and Zaun won't be their last because with new projects on the way, you can expect your beloved champions from League of Legends to make their way from the Summoner's Rift and become characters in the shows planned out for future series.
